Thugs break jaw of man on train near Swinton

A TRAIN traveller suffered a broken jaw and serious facial injuries in a savage attack near Swinton station.

The man was assaulted by three men in a corridor near a toilet, according to  British Transport Police.

The passenger was on the 9.48pm train from Leeds to Sheffield at 10.15pm on Saturday, April 14, when the attack happened.

Just before the train reached Swinton, the 20-year-old victim was assaulted, a BTP spokesman said.

One of the men was white, in his 20s and around 6ft tall. He was wearing a dark grey polo shirt.

Another of the men is believed to be mixed race, with curly hair and was in his mid to late twenties. He was wearing a black top.

BTP would like to speak to anyone who was on the train and may have seen what happened.
