Three people hospitalised with serious injuries after A57 Todwick collision

THREE people remain in hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the A57 at Todwick on Tuesday and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A silver Jaguar X-type was travelling westbound on the A57 towards Sheffield at around 2.25pm when it crossed the road and collided with a silver Toyota Avensis travelling in the opposite direction, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said.

The driver and a passenger travelling in the Toyota, a 49-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman, were both taken to hospital with serious injuries

The driver of the Jaguar, a 53-year-old man, also suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

All three remained in hospital, said the spokeswoman.

The road was closed for five hours following the collision. 

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who has dashcam footage of the incident. Contact police on 101, quoting incident number 506 of March 26.
