Three more deaths but Covid patient numbers remain stable and cases fall

COVID deaths are continuing to fall at Rotherham Hospital, and in-patient numbers have remained stable. 

According to the latest figures, positive cases in the borough have dropped by nearly 40 per cent, to 446 compared with 736 last week. 

Three more people have died at the hospital after testing positive for Covid-19 and, as of this morning, 23 inpatients were being treated, with one patient in critical care at the hospital — the same patient numbers as last week. 

The total number of inpatients who have tested positive since Covid-19 began is now 4,192. 

Nearly 86 per cent of the population in Rotherham aged over 12 have had their first dose of the vaccine, 81.3 per cent have had their second and nearly 64 per cent have received a booster jab.
