Three more Covid-related deaths and two patients in critical care

THREE more people have died after testing positive for Covid-19 and two patients are in critical care in Rotherham Hospital.  

As of Wednesday morning, there were 26 inpatients in Rotherham Hospital who had tested positive for Covid-19, with two in critical care.

The latest deaths bring the total of Covid-positive patients who have died at the hospital since the start of the pandemic to 709.

The total number of inpatients who have tested positive since Covid-19 began is now 3,520. 

In the last seven days, 1,059 people in the borough have tested positive — an increase of 50 people. 

More than 84 per cent of the population aged over 12 have had their first dose, more than three quarters (77.5 per cent) have had their second and in excess of a third (38.1 per cent) have received a booster jab.
