Three jailed over armed robbery at Rotherham town centre jewellers

THREE men who carried out an armed robbery at a town centre jewellers have been jailed for a total of 17 years.

Declan Taylor (21), of Walker Road, Kimberworth, Lyle Copley (22), of Cecil Avenue, Doncaster, Shakeel Hussain (26), of Bridge Close, Airmyn, East Yorkshire, were sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court last Friday (29).

They were convicted for carrying out the armed raid at Diamonds Classic Gold Jewellers in the Imperial Buildings on Corporation Street on April 30.

All three men admitted robbery, while Taylor and Copley pleaded guilty to threatening a person with an article with a blade or point.

Copley, who admitted unrelated charges of driving while disqualified and possession with intent to supply cocaine, was jailed for eight years.

Hussain and Taylor were both sentenced to four years and six months.
