Leicester City shot-stopper Daniel Iversen is set to complete a season-long loan deal at AESSEAL New Stadium tomorrow to bring to an end the Millers' two-month-plus wait for the Premier League side to sanction the move.

The Millers, who have already brought in six new players, are expecting a busy week on the transfer front as they step up their preparations for League One opening day at AFC Wimbledon on August 3.

It is believed they have agreed a fee of around £250,000 with Ross County for Jamie Lindsay and that the 23-year-old midfielder is heading south to wrap up talks.

"I'd like to think that a goalkeeper will join us on Monday," said manager Paul Warne after watching his side beat Chesterfield 2-1 in a pre-season friendly at the Proact yesterday.

"It's important we get a keeper in. It's the target I have wanted all along. I'm hopeful that on Monday we will have three in and maybe one might be leaving."

A deal for Dane Iversen, aged 21, has long been in the pipeline, with Leicester wanting to watch him in pre-season training before allowing him to leave.

His impending arrival is timely as shot-stopper Lewis Price hurt his groin in the win over the Spireites.

Jamie Lindsay

Rotherham had an £150,000 offer for Lindsay rejected several weeks ago and, armed with the proceeds of the sales of Will Vaulks and Semi Ajayi, they went in with a bigger bid this week.

Lindsay has a year left on his deal with the Scottish Premier League side and Warne said: "I can talk to you about players who are out of contract, but when a player is still contracted to his club then it is awkward for me. So I have no comment to make on that one."

The ex-Celtic youngster wasn’t in the Ross County squad for this afternoon’s trip to St Johnstone.

Salford City boss Graham Alexander watched Rotherham's 5-1 triumph at Bradford Park Avenue last Wednesday and it may be that the League Two club, who signed former AESSEAL New York Stadium loanee Richie Towell in May, are eyeing another Millers player.

Meanwhile, Warne remains an admirer of Blackpool centre-half Curtis Tilt but may have to turn his back on the defender, 27, as the Seasiders' new owners are reluctant to sell.

"I'm looking in quite a few areas," the boss confirmed. "There is money for me to spend, although there was money for me to spend anyway before we sold Will and Semi.

"The players we bring in have to fit what we want, fit in with our wage structure and improve us. And they have to be available.

"There have been a few signings I have wanted to make but clubs simply haven't been prepared to sell. I know money talks and you can offer a lot more than a player is worth but that is not something I am prepared to do.

"We need to strengthen and, quite obviously, we have got the funds to do that."
