Three hurt in Wombwell crash involving suspected drink driver

The driver and passenger of a Vauxhall Vectra and the driver of a Suzuki Ignis all needed hospital treatment following the collision at 5.50pm on Saturday at Dovecliffe Road near Wombwell.

A police spokesperson said: “The driver of the Vauxhall, a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while over the prescribed limit of alcohol.

 “The driver of the Vauxhall, his 30-year-old passenger and the driver of the Suzuki suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital where they remain in a stable condition.

 “A further three passengers in the Vauxhall suffered minor injuries.”
