Three hurt after car hits tree at Rawmarsh

THREE people were injured after a car hit a tree in Rawmarsh this morning.

Two men were taken to hospital with serious injuries, while a third was treated at the scene for minor injuries, police said.

Emergency services were called at 9.15am after the crash on Dale Road.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said: “It is believed that a red Audi collided with a tree. 

“The driver, a 30-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was taken to Northern General Hospital via ambulance.

“His passenger, an 18-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries via ambulance.

“A second passenger, a 29-year-old man, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.”

PCSOs closed the road while emergency services responded to the incident.

Police said enquires into what had happened were underway. Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting incident 220 of March 22.
