Three fire crews at Mexborough house fire

FIREFIGHTERS tackled a house fire which started in a fuse box and spread through to the loft.

The blaze at the property on Derwent Road, Mexborough, broke out at 8.20pm on Saturday in a fuse box in the hall ceiling, said a fire service spokeswoman.

"It spread up through the floors, into the loft," she said.

The cause was accidental and no-one was injured, she added.

Crews from Edlington, Dearne and Rotherham station left the scene at 9.30pm.
