Three crews attend Moorgate house fire

THREE fire engines attended a house blaze in Moorgate yesterday.

The appliances — two from Rotherham station and one from Maltby — attended Renishaw Avenue at 3.44pm on Sunday.

There they found a semi-detached home partially alight.

One eyewitness said the fire appeared to have started in the kitchen.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to put out the fire, leaving the scene at around 6.30pm.

All occupants were accounted for and no injuries were reported, a fire service spokesman said.

No cause had been recorded by Monday morning, she added.
