Three cars set on fire by arsonists

THREE vehicles were destroyed by arsonists over the weekend.

A car was destroyed in Wingfield Road, Wingfield, on Friday at 10.53pm. The make and model were unknown.

The next day a large transit van was set on fire in Windermere Avenue, Goldthorpe, at 10.53pm

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said the van had been left totally burnt out. 

A crew from Edlington station was at the scene for nearly an hour.

Yesterday, a Citroen was also found well alight in Lockwood Road, Goldthorpe, at 2.14am.

Later, Rotherham station attended a fire outside of a property in Meadow Close, Dalton, at 3.46am.

Household waste had been deliberately set alight and had spread to wooden fascias and cabling.
