Three arson attacks in one day across borough

TWO vehicles were destroyed by arsonists within hours of each other with one so badly damaged its make and model could not be identified by firefighters.

The first incident occurred on Dropingwell Road, Kimberworth, at 1pm yesterday (Sunday) when a Ford Fiesta was set alight.

A crew from Rotherham station was at the scene for 45 minutes.

The second unidentified vehicle was found burnt out on Mill Lane, Treeton, later the same day at 8.35pm.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said the crew from Parkway station could not identify its make and model due to fire damage.

Arsonists struck again on Sunday, this time setting fire to a wheelie bin on Alderson Close, Aughton, at 8.30pm.

A crew from Aston park was at the scene for 15 minutes.
