Three arson attacks in Dearne Valley overnight

A CARAVAN and a wheelie bin were among the items destroyed in arson attacks overnight.

Firefighters from Dearne and Edlington stations were called to a caravan which had been deliberately set alight on Pastures Lane, Cadeby, at 10.50pm last night (Thursday), a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

Crews from Cudworth and Barnsley stations were called to a deliberate wheelie bin fire on High Street, Thurnscoe, at 10.25pm and spent 35 minutes at the scene, added the spokesperson.

Firefighters from Edlington station were called to a deliberate rubbish fire on Catterick Close, Denaby, at 2.45am and left the scene at 3am.

Cudworth firefighters were called to an accidental rubbish fire which spread to a shed and fence on Yvonne Grove, Wombwell, at 2.05am and left the scene at 2.50am.
