Three arrested after traffic crash assault

Police received reports that a 22-year-old man had been involved in a collision with the red Ford Transit on Brow Hill Road at around 1.50pm on Saturday (2).

It was reported that two men got out of the van and assaulted the 22-year-old, before getting back in and leaving the scene, said a South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman.

The 22-year-old man was taken to hospital, but has since been released, she added.

One 34-year-old, a 35-year-old and a 38-year-old — all from the Maltby area — were arrested on Sunday.

All three have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers now want anyone who saw the incident, or has information about the red van, to contact 101 quoting incident 530 of June 2.
