Thorpe Hesley parish council plan
The plan is part of Rotherham Borough Council’s review of parishes across the the area–the first for more than 20 years.
One of the proposals is for a new parish of Thorpe Hesley along with detailed consultation with residents over the creation of a parish council.

Hide AdIts purpose would be to represent the local community, delivering services to meet local needs and improving the quality of life in the parish.
Typically, parish councils could be involved with allotments, bus shelters, car parks, community centres, community transport schemes, crime reduction, festivals and celebrations local youth projects, parks and open spaces.
It would be funded by a precept which the new parish council would determine and which would be collected by the borough council in addition to the council tax.
Public meetings are planned to discuss the creation of the new parish and parish council and will be advertised shortly.
