Third man arrested over jewellery shop armed robbery

A THIRD man has been arrested by officers investigating an armed robbery at a Rotherham jewellers.

The 21-year-old from Kimberworth Park was arrested yesterday (Monday) on suspicion of robbery and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Three men entered Diamonds Classic Gold Jewellers, Imperial Buildings, and threatened the shopkeeper with a knife at around 12.45pm on Monday, April 30.

A police spokeswoman said "a large quantity of jewellery" was stolen and the men made off in a stolen black Honda Civic. 

Shakil Hussain (26), of Bridge Close, Airmyn, East Yorkshire, and Lyle Copley (22), of Cecil Avenue, Doncaster have been charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article in relation to the investigation. Both remain in custody.

Copley has also been charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and driving offences.
