PROMOTED Rotherham United today made forward Mickel Miller their first signing of the summer.

The winger, who can also play in a central attacking role, has joined Paul Warne's promoted side on a two-year contract after leaving Scottish Premier League outfit Hamilton Academical.

Rotherham, preparing for next season's Championship campaign after their League One promotion, have been working on the deal to bring the 24-year-old to AESSEAL New York Stadium for more than a month.

Warne has said he wants more wide men in his squad and Miller fits the manager's preferred style. He is direct, tricky and fast and likes to take on opponents on the outside.

From Croydon, Miller spent five years with non-league Casharlton Athletic before joining Hamilton in January 2018.

He scored 12 goals in 68 games for the Scottish oufit.

"I've already been warned about how intense pre-season will be," Miller said. "It's going to be a challenge getting into the team but I like challenges."
