Teen's condition "serious" after town centre crash

The 17-year-old was injured close to the junction with Main Street when he collided with a grey Seat Alhambra, at around 5.30am.

The 41-year-old man driving was interviewed by officers, who cordoned off the road and diverted traffic towards Masbrough.

A police spokeswoman said on Saturday: “The 17-year-old is in a serious condition in hospital.”

Anyone with information about the crash is urged to call 101, quoting incident number 194 of October 27.

The Advertiser has asked police for an update on the teenager’s condition this morning.
