Teenager left fighting for life after smash

A ROTHERHAM teenager suffered life-threatening injuries when the car he was travelling in left the road and crashed into a telegraph pole.

The 18 year old was a passenger in a blue Audi A3 which was driving on the A6021 Wickersley Road, Rotherham, at about 11.30pm on Friday.

He suffered head, spine and lung injuries in the accident and is being treated at Rotherham General Hospital.

The driver of the car and another passenger received minor head injuries.
Police believe the accident happened after the driver, a 19-year-old man from Broom,

Rotherham, lost control of the car on a right-hand bend near the junction with Bentfield Avenue.

South Yorkshire Police are asking for anyone who saw the accident to contact them.
