Teenager attacked in road rage incident

A TEENAGER was allegedly punched in the face in a “road rage” incident last weekend.

Police said an 18-year-old man sustained a possible fractured cheekbone and broken nose after being struck by a motorist at around 11.45am last Saturday on Tanfield Way, Wickersley.

The teenager was travelling with his partner in his partner’s car when it is believed he asked to stop the car while he got out to make a phone call.

A black Audi A3, travelling along Tanfield Way in the opposite direction, was reportedly unable to pass the other car on the road and began sounding its horn.

The man driving the Audi got out of the car, approached the 18-year-old, who was still on the phone, and allegedly punched him.

The 18-year-old, from Dinnington, was taken to hospital and was treated for possible facial fractures.

Officers are now trying to trace the man driving the Audi. He is described as being white, approximately 6ft tall, aged about 27 or 28, of medium build, with shaved light brown hair.
