A TEENAGER has appeared in court charged in connection with two stabbings in the town centre.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with two offences of Section 18 wounding with intent in connection with an incident in High Street last Wednesday and another on Spring Walk last Thursday.

A 30-year-old was taken to hospital with serious stab wounds after the incident on High Street, while a 39-year-old man suffered stab wounds in the Spring Walk incident the following day.

The 16-year-old was remanded into youth detention and is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on August 9.
