Teenage cyclist seriously injured in collision

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a collision involving a car and a 14-year-old cyclist. The teenager was pedalling along on Herringthorpe Valley Road, near the junction with Far Lane, when the incident, involving a red Toyota Avensis, ocurred at 8.20p

The cyclist was taken to hospital with “serious injuries”, a police spokesman said.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call the police on 101, quoting incident number 958 of November 27.
