Talks due today as Rotherham United chase new frontman
The promoted Millers wanted to add another centre-forward to their Championship squad even before injuries to attacking duo Tom Eaves and Josh Kayode made their need for a new recruit even more acute.
They are trying to broker a season-long loan but aren't anticipating quick progress.

Hide AdAssistant manager Richie Barker was on media duty after yesterday's 2- 1 win at Crewe Alexandra in the final summer friendly and said: "The conversation is planned for tomorrow.
"I would be amazed if a move happens in the next few days. Things have been pretty slow with this.
"When you're talking about loans, you've got to get the player onside, the agent onside and the parent club onside, Plus, obviously, it has to be the right deal for us.
"There are a lot of things that have to happen before the deal is made."

Hide AdRotherham would love to strengthen up front and in other areas before next weekend's opening-day visit of Swansea City. However, Barker is offering no guarantee that new arrivals will be through the door by then.
"I would hope so," he said. "Would I expect it? Hope and expectation are two different things.
"You're allowed to bring on five substitutes next season so in terms of strength in depth I would like someone in. Whether it will happen I'm not sure."
Chiedozie Ogbene missed the trip to Crewe because of illness. The winger hasn't trained since playing in last Tuesday's draw at Doncaster Rovers and saw the club doctor at Roundwood on Friday.

Hide AdThe match saw the returns of wing-back Shane Ferguson and new centre-half Jamie McCart from foot and quad problems respectively.
“I'm glad they have got something in before the start of the season," Barker said. "They can now at least be in consideration for some part of the game next Saturday."
