Taking learning to a different level...

STUDENTS swapped their classrooms for the historic halls of Wentworth Woodhouse as they enjoyed a change of scenery.

Year 7 pupils from Winterhill School in Kimberworth took history and English classes at the stately home.

Behaviour for learning head Simon Jeffery said: “We are invested in supporting Wentworth woodhouse.

“This started back in 2020 and as we return back to normality, we are keen that we continue this and develop it further.”

The Wentworth visit included a guided tour and a look around the archive, which teachers hoped would help with creative writing.

There are plans in the next school year for further departments to take the chance to hold lessons at the mansion, which is now under renovation.

Wentworth Woodhouse was also recently the venue for the school’s governors’ awards ceremony and the Year 11 summer ball.
