Takeaway owner slashed in attempted robbery

A PIZZA takeaway owner was threatened with a knife in an attempted robbery in Parkgate.

He suffered deep cuts to his chin and hands in the incident at 1.10am on Tuesday outside Sicily Pizza, on Broad Street.

The robbery suspect approached and threatened him with a knife and demanded cash as he sat in the driver’s seat of his car.

Police wish to speak to a man in relation to the incident who is described as 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall and wore a dark hooded jacket and trousers and light coloured footwear at the time.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time.
