Police arrested a 31-year-old Doncaster man on Friday. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.

A 32-year-old from Mexborough was arrested on Sunday, also on suspicion of murder. He is currently assisting the police investigation.

Det Supt Colin Fisher said: “I believe the deceased let the killer or killers into her home. Her killer left after the attack, locking the door in the process.”

He added: “A postmortem examination, conducted on Friday, January 29, requires additional information before a cause of death can be formally established. However, I believe she was killed.

“The deceased was last seen alive when she left the Maple Leaf Bakery, about 6pm Wednesday, January 27.

“When she failed to turn up for work the next day the police were alerted and found her in the bathroom of her own home.”

Ms Dziegielewska moved to the UK four years ago from Bialystok in north-east Poland.

A red VW Golf was recovered after an appeal from detectives.
