Swallownest school forced to close due to break-in
Swallownest Primary School is closed today (Wednesday) following a break-in.

A PRIMARY school is closed this morning (Wednesday) after an overnight burglary.

Swallownest Primary made the announcement it would be shut on their Facebook page, which read: "Due to a break-in, we have made the decision to close the school today due to health and safety reasons."

Police were called at 5.20am this morning after they received reports a school had been broken into on Rotherham Road. 

A spokeswoman said it was mot yet known whether anything has been taken, adding that enquiries were underway.

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident number 92 of December 4.

The school said they would update everyone later today on how the long school will be closed for via their social media channels.
