A MAN has been handed a suspended prison sentence and ordered to carry out unpaid work after admitting an indecent images charge.
Alex Bate (38), of Sparrow Hawk Way, Wath, admitted making an indecent image of a child when he appeared before magistrates in Doncaster on Monday.
The charges relate to a category A image — the most extreme level — taken in Doncaster in 2019.
Bate was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison suspended for two years and ordered to carry out 250 hours of unpaid work.
He was also told to take part in up to 35 rehabilitation programme days and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £128 victim surcharge.
Bate will have to sign on the sex offenders’ register for seven years.
