Suspended jail sentence for Rotherham teenager who sexually abused two girls

AN “IMMATURE” man who sexually abused two girls aged under 16 — one of whom was 12 — has avoided an immediate jail term.

Kieran Stainrod (21), of Ellis Street, Brinsworth, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court today for one count of assault by penetration of a child under 13 and four counts of sexual activity with a child under 16.

He assaulted the 12-year-old girl when he was 16 and was involved in sexual activity with the other girl between 2014 and 2016, when she was aged between 15 and 16 and he was aged between 17 and 18.

Stainrod admitted all of the offences at earlier hearings at the Crown Court.

Judge Paul Watson gave Stainrod a 12-month jail term, suspended for two years, and 25 days of rehabilitation activity requirement.

He said: “I’m dealing with somebody who was himself young, was immature and has pleaded guilty to all these offences.

"Somebody who has done everything he can to put these matters well and truly behind him."

Stainrod will be on the sex offenders’ register for ten years.
