A SUPERMARKET bakery will be shut for two weeks after a pest was found.
The bakery at Tesco Extra, Wath, was closed immediately following the grim discovery on Tuesday (13) so pest controllers could carry out a deep clean of the site.
A Tesco spokesman said: “Following discovery of a pest in the bakery at our Tesco Extra in Wath we closed the bakery immediately and have been working with Rentokil to carry out a deep clean of the site.
“We are taking the extra step of replacing all the machinery which means the bakery will be closed for two weeks.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
The spokesman said the issue did not affect the rest of the store.
