Students help Rotherham firm develop worldwide links

BUSINESS students have been helping Rotherham company Sizer Ltd to build international links in the Far East.

Four young people studying for a masters in International Business Management at Sheffield Hallam University were tasked with researching industry contact within Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.

The project was as part of Sizers’ global expansion plans to supply pelleting equipment and spare parts.

Roger Pearson, managing director of Sizer, said: "We are delighted with the results of the research carried out by the students, who are all native speakers of the local languages.  “There are many opportunities for us to expand our business in the Far East.

"The project has given us some excellent information and contacts and we are confident that this will help us to develop new business opportunities in these countries."

Sizer Ltd produces pelleting machines and component parts under the Orbit brand, which are used within the recycling and renewable energy industries worldwide.

The company already has a customer base in many countries outside Europe, including Canada, Australia and Japan and the project was part of its plan to expand its distribution network of component parts for pelleting machines.
