Strikers vying for Millers place says Tom Pope

TODAY'S Rotherham United Reserves game gives two Millers strikers the chance to make big strides on their comeback from injury.

Tom Pope and Ryan Taylor have been sidelined during pre-season and the early weeks of the regular season with foot injuries.

Pope made his comeback to the first team with a susbstitute’s appearance against Burton Albion on Saturday.

He is expected to start when the reserves take on Lincoln City at Don Valley Stadium this afternoon  while Taylor might be given a run from the bench.

Pope said: "There will be healthy competition for places once myself and Ryan are back because we'll have lots of strikers on our hands. The gaffer is going to have some difficult decisions to make."
