Stress busting classes to help Rotherham sufferers

A NEW series of classes aims to help people fight anxiety and smash stress.

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) is now taking bookings for its six-week stress-busting course.

The educational programme is for those feeling anxiety, depression or panic, as well as those with difficulty sleeping.

Course organise James Bell, of RDaSH, said: “One in six people suffer from stress or anxiety during their lives.

“This course aims to teach people to understand the triggers and provides them with the support and self-help techniques to be able to manage it.

“We also provide an information pack and activities for people to work through in their own time.”

The classes will run on Wednesday evenings at the Unity Centre, St Leonard’s Road, starting on November 8.

Stress control is available to anyone over the age of 18 and registered with a Rotherham GP practice.

For more information or to book a place on the course, telephone 01709 447755.

The course is not suitable for people with major alcohol or drug issues, or people with thoughts of self-harm.

Anyone suffering such problems should contact their GP for advice.
