Street dancing monkeys and skateboarding wolves in Jungle Book adaptation

A CIRCUS and street dance show is set to wow audiences when a new production heads to the region.

An innovative adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic children’s story Jungle Book is coming to Doncaster’s Cast Theatre from Wednesday, July 12, to Saturday, July 15.

A production by Metta Theatre, the new show uses music, spoken word, hip hop, circus and street dance.

The radical reimagining of Kipling’s classic tale is set in a contemporary urban jungle of skateboarding wolves, street dancing monkeys, a beat-loving bin man Baloo and graffiti artist Bagheera.

It features choreography from acclaimed hip hop artist Kendra J Horsburgh.

Tickets are available from the Cast box office on 01302 303959 or online at castindoncaster.com.

They cost £16.50 or £14.50 concessions, with deals for families and schools or youth groups available.

Shows begin at 7pm each evening, with a 1.30pm matinee on Thursday, July 13, and a 2.30pm show on Saturday, July 15.
