Straw and hay set on fire in Greasbrough and Hooton Roberts

BALES of straw and hay were torched in Greasbrough and Hooton Roberts last night (Tuesday).

A crew from Dearne station was called to Church Street, Greasbrough, at 8.15pm to reports of three straw bales on fire. They left the scene at 9.05pm.

A crew from Rotherham station attended three hay bales on fire in Back Lane, Hooton Roberts, at 9.10pm, leaving the scene at 10.30pm.

Both fires were deliberate, a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.
