Still time to go green

A DEADLINE for groups with green ideas to bid for funding of up to £3,000 has been extended.

The scheme is run by Renewi — formerly Shanks — to support the area around the waste treatment facility at Manvers.

The last day for applications has been changed from this weekend to February 16 to allow more groups to put forward a case.

A spokeswoman said: “In the past, the fund has helped with an allotment group for people with learning disabilities, cookery sessions for children in foster care, and a
volunteer horticulture training programme to help the unemployed back into work.”

Projects must be within 3.5km of the Manvers facility. Find out more and apply at the BDR Waste Partnership website at www.bdronline.co.uk.
