Staff tackle milling machine fire at industrial unit

STAFF at an industrial premises in Goldthorpe put out a fire in a milling machine yesterday (Thursday).

Firefighters from Dearne station were called to Commercial Road at 10pm but the fire was out on arrival, a spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

The spokesman said oil in the milling machine caught fire and staff used a dry powder extinguisher to put it out.

Firefighters were at the scene for 20 minutes.
