Stadium flooding fears
Rotherham United chairman Tony Stewart revealed that preparatory work for the start of building would include the key engineering work.
The former Guest and Chrimes site is bordered on one side by the River Don, which overflowed in 2007, flooding low-lying businesses.

Hide AdBut borough council chief executive Martin Kimber said that he was confident that the new stadium would not suffer the same fate.
He said: “Detailed site investigation has revealed that the stadium can be built using normal construction techniques to avoid flooding.
“The current owners of the site, Evans of Leeds, have invested a lot in the preparation of the site to allow it to be developed and that has proved great advantage.”
