THE family of a man allegedly murdered last week said they were "shocked and devastated" by his death as he was named by police.
Lewis Guest (18) was taken to hospital on Wednesday, March 8, after emergency services were called to flats just off Wadworth Street, Denaby Main, at about 2.30pm following reports of an assault.
He was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
A post-mortem examination has concluded that he died from a stab wound.
Megan Sambrook (18), of Wadworth Street, Denaby Main, is charged with Mr Guest's murder.
Police released a picture of him and a short statement, which said: "Lewis’ family are shocked and devastated by his death.
“They wish to thank all those people who have taken the time to leave their kind thoughts of Lewis on social media.
“However, his family would ask that their privacy is respected at this very sad time.”
Police are urging anyone with information to call 101 quoting incident number 609 of March 8.
