Stab victim critical in hospital as man (32) is held by police

A STABBING victim who suffered knife wounds to his neck yesterday (Sunday) is in a critical condition in hospital while police question a Rotherham man over the incident.

Emergency services were called to Churchill Avenue, Maltby at 11am after reports that a man was seriously injured, a police spokeswoman said.

A 30-year-old man had suffered a knife wound to his neck and remains in a critical condition in hospital, she added.

"A 32-year-old Rotherham man was arrested nearby on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent," said the spokeswoman.

"He remains in police custody at this time."
