Sports boost for disabled kids
CHILDREN with disabilities will have the chance to get involved with sport today thanks to a new project.
The launch event for the Rotherham Active Ability, set to be held at Herringthorpe Athletics Stadium today from 10.30am to 2.30pm, promises a day of fun-filled sports for children with disabilities aged 14 and over to try.
Activities include athletics from Rotherham Harriers Athletics Club, rugby from Titans Community Foundation, cricket from the Sheffield United Cricket Club and football from the Rotherham United Community Sports Trust.
Anyone interested in trying the sports is asked to make sure you come for 10am for registration, bring a packed lunch and wear the correct sports clothes.
Places are limited and should be booked by contacting Sally or Hayley at Speakup Self-Advocacy on 01709 720462.
