South Yorkshire police authority seeks standards watchdog

The role of the committee is to promote and maintain high standards of conduct among authority members and compliance with the member Code of Conduct. 

It is also responsible for considering complaints that a member has breached the code.

The standards committee is made up of six lay members and three authority members. 

Members are paid an allowance, plus expenses, for attending meetings.  The committee meets approximately four times a year.
