Snow storm hero Liam happy to help
Liam Greenwood (pictured) pushed cars up slippy Station Road in Swinton after the Mini-Beast from the East struck two weeks ago.
He also gritted icy sections along his route from East Dene to Swinton on the chilly evening.

Hide AdLiam, of Broom, said he had been answering a call from a mate who had become stuck in the treacherous conditions when he realised others were struggling with the heavy snow on the evening of Saturday, March 17.
“It was clear we needed to keep the traffic moving,” he said.
“We were all stuck so me and this other guy drove up to the grit bin in his 4x4 and got some grit to put on the road.
“I do feel quite happy about it and like I’ve done a good deed.”

Hide AdLiam was praised in a letter to the Advertiser by grateful motorist Sue Thompson, who said: “A young man, Liam (I asked his name to give recognition and pass on my appreciation), was helping struggling drivers with a blanket on the road and pushing vehicles up the hill alone in freezing temperatures.
“Without the aid of this wonderful, selfless person I may not have made it to my parents.
“I cannot thank him enough.”
Liam revealed his journey from East Dene to Swinton and back had taken more than two-and-a-half hours, with the canal bridge at Kilnhurst and Rawmarsh Hill both proving trouble spots.
