Smash victim cut from wreckage

A DRIVER escaped with minor injuries after being cut free by firefighters after a crash on Saturday.

Crews from Maltby and Edlington stations were called to Blyth Road in Maltby at about 6.30pm.

The man, in his 20s, was taken to hospital. No other vehicle was involved in the incident.

Fire crews also attended after a shed fire in Aston spread to a motorbike parked nearby.

A fire service spokesman said the blaze, on Eagle View at 7.50pm, had been started deliberately.

And crews from Dearne station were called out after a Vauxhall Corsa was set alight on Doncaster Road, Wath, at 4.30am on Sunday.
