Slimmers get their jog on to back cancer battler Elish Jennings

SLIMMERS piled on plenty of pounds as they visited a popular Rotherham park — but it was cash not weight they were collecting.

More than 70 members of WeightWatchers groups from the town came together to complete 5km at Rother Valley Country Park and raised £250 for cancer sufferer Elish Jennings’ treatment.

Members joining in the #WW5kMyWaychallenge completed the 5k “their way” — some jogged, some cycled and some walked.

Rotherham Weightwatchers coach Lisa Dodds said: “We had a lot of fun and raised money for a great cause.

“I’m excited to see how my members carry on stepping up their fitness levels.”

Elish, from Sheffield, has so far been donated more than £27,000 towards her treatment for cancer.
