Skip set alight in early morning blaze

A SKIP was deliberately set alight in Rotherham in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters from Rotherham station were called to Wharncliffe Street at 3.40am, where a skip had been deliberately set alight, a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

They left the scene at 4.05am.

A crew from Rotherham was dispatched to tackle a deliberate fire involving rubbish and a mattress on Doncaster Road, East Dene, at 8.05pm yesterday (Monday) and was at the scene for almost an hour.
