Skip lorry crashes into Thurnscoe home building site

THIS was the scene after a skip lorry crashed into a house that was being built before bursting into flames.

Emergency services were called at around 10.10pm to Queen Street, Thurnscoe, on Tuesday.

Two fire crews spent two hours at the scene.

An investigation is underway into the incident and police said officers were making enquiries in the area to determine what happened.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “No-one was hurt in the incident.

“However, extensive damage was caused to the property.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information about it, is asked to call the police on 101 quoting incident number 1061 of  November 14.
