Sixth arrest in New Year's Day murder investigation

A SIXTH man has been arrested in connection with the killing of Fatjon Oruci in East Dene on New Year's Day.

A 25-year-old man, from North London, was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder, a police spokesperson said.

He has since been released under investigation.

Fatjon (22), from London, was found on Doncaster Road at around 1.20am on January 1.

A postmortem found he died of catastrophic injuries as a result of beating and had also been stabbed, the spokesperson said.

A 26-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, who were arrested on suspicion of murder, have been released and are no longer being treated as suspects.

A fourth man, aged 33, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, and a fifth man, aged 44, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been released under investigation as enquiries continue, the spokesperson added.
