CANADIAN singer-songwriter Erin Costelo is aiming to tell stories through song when she visits South Yorkshire this weekend.
Costelo aims to use music to mine the truth through writing, arranging and producing.
Her latest, self-produced album Down Below, the Status Quo is nominated for numerous awards in her homeland of Eastern Canada, including Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
Described as a magical, moonlight-soaked reverie, filled with drama and intensity, in one moment a defiant cry and in the next a desperate whisper, the album has been likened to work by Nina Simone and Donny Hathaway.
Costelo will be at Sheffield’s Cafe 9, Nether Edge Road, on Sunday at 7.30pm.
Tickets priced £11 are available at http://www.wegottickets.com/event/399117.
