Sick chihuahua vet bills donations needed

AN animal rescue charity has appealed for donations to pay the vet bills of a sick chihuahua.

The poorly pooch is suffering from sores and is losing fur after being found in a state of neglect and poor health after being used for breeding.

The cause of sick Violet’s suffering is unknown and she needs expensive emergency tests.

Now Wickersley-based animal rescue charity Rain Rescue — which has been looking after Violet — said it needs support to pay the medical costs.

Lauren Sanderson, deputy charity manager, said: “Seeing Violet in such a terrible state is truly heartbreaking for ourselves and especially for her foster mum who has been caring for her so lovingly since she arrived into the charity’s care.

“We are hoping with the public’s help we can get her the treatment she so desperately needs.

“The sad fact is this is the reality for many ex-breeding bitches. “They are used to produce puppies and then thrown away when they can no longer make money for their owners.”

To make a donation to Violet’s appeal, visit www.rainrescue.co.uk/make-a-donation/ or

send a cheque payable to Rain Rescue to Summerfield Lodge, Moat Lane, Wickersley, Rotherham S66 1DZ.

Wellwishers can also donate from a mobile by texting RAIN04 £1/2/3/5/10 to 70070.
